Information and Documents Required for Filing Design Applications in ISRAEL

  • Full particulars of the Applicant, i.e. name, address, nationality, and, in the case of a company, its legal status. In case of a U.S. Company the state of incorporation should be advised.
  • Original Power of Attorney simply signed, indicating who signed and in which capacity. Fax copies are not accepted. No legalisation is required. If a client intends to file applications regularly in Israel, a General Power may be filed which may serve for all patent, trademark and design applications.
  • International Class in which the design has to be registered.
  • Title of the design.
  • Photographs or drawings of the design (the former being preferred). Should more than one view have to be shown, a photograph or drawing of each view is required.
    • A separate application has to be filed in each Class.
    • However, please take into consideration that a Multiple Design Application may be filed.
  • If a set is to be filed, one application may be filed for this set.
  • If a priority is to be claimed, we require:
    • The Priority Date and Serial Number of Basic Application as well as the Priority Country;
    • Priority document together with certified English translation, if applicable, i. e. should it not be in the English language.
In the event that an application has to be filed urgently, we require the information under 1, 3, 4, and 8a above, and informal photographs or drawings. The formal photographs or drawings, the Power of Attorney, the priority document/s and certified English translation/s thereof (if applicable), may be filed within three months from the date of filing the application.
